The women’s national team is in its infancy, having been set up in 2021 only.

In February 2022, they won their first international game when they beat Seychelles 2-0 in a friendly tournament in the Maldives. In September 2022, they played their first international game on home soil when they hosted Bhutan; they managed a 3-3 draw in the first game but lost 4-2 in the second.

In August 2021, German Monika Staab was appointed head coach of the women’s national team.

In January 2023, the Women’s National Team won its first ever international tournament (Women International Friendly Tournament) which was held in Saudi Arabia. They beat Mauritius and the Comoros and they got a draw against Pakistan, before winning the tournament.

The women’s national team, like their male counterpart, are also known as the Green Falcons and usually play in green and white as well.
